This is my first post on this forum and first application on modbus rtu, so please by patient. I have PLC s7-1200 and inverter sinamics v20. I can change value of inverter parameteres or read some value, but I don't know which commands shall I send from mapping table to run motor. Thank you for any response. I'm trying to use an arduino Duamelinove to comunicate with a Sinamics V20 inverter via RS485. I have a shield to convert the RS232 from the arduino to the RS485 from the inverter. I also have a RS485/USB adapter to monitor the communication from a computer.
I've loaded the SimpleModbusMaster library example on the arduino, and I'm getting transmission errors on the computer monitor (values different from what was transmited). The inverter receives the signal, but it returns a 'parity error'.
I also tried communicating the inverter with the computer, without the arduino, using a Modbus Master demo and, this time, it returns a 'character structure error'.

Has anyone ever tryied to do something similiar before? I'm not sure if this is even possible as everything I find online mention only communication between Siemens Inverters with Siemens PLCs.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
