Play as Mac or Stella and investigate complex crime scenes in this CSI: New York game
CSI: New York The Game is a 2D point and click game that is created around the famous TV series with the same name. It throws five cases your way, each one a bit tougher than the last so you have to pay attention to the details.
It might be about CSI: NY but it’s still more of a basic hidden object game
When you see Ubisoft Entertainment as the developer you might get the feeling that this one is going to be good, after all, it’s Ubisoft. Unfortunately, CSI: New York The Game might as well be just another cheap hidden object game.
Since CSI: New York is a show that takes itself serious when it comes to how investigations are performed, you’d expect the game be the same. Why in the heck would you need to pick up bananas and bagels at a crime scene when they have nothing to do with the case, I don’t know. Those are just useless clicks crammed into gameplay to make it longer. It actually is disappointing.
Basic puzzles that only slightly challenge your mind
When it comes to solving the crimes, investigating is a breeze. The game holds your hand almost all the time so you won’t really have to put your brain to work. You’ll have to circle some stuff, click some other stuff and you’ll even be put in the situation of playing ‘spot the difference’.
CSI: New York The Game has almost no real challenge for you to take on. Even the interrogation branching eventually sustains linear gameplay. Visually, the game could have been much better. Moreover, not having any kind of voice acting is a big letdown, not to mention that the game’s audio effects are poorly executed.
Don't expect too much from it, except a casual point and click
If you’re looking for a great investigation game that’s based on CSI: New York, this is not the best thing to play. There is a good deal information you will learn but the game itself, is average.
