If your MacBook is running a macOS version earlier than Catalina (10.15), such as Sierra (10.12), High Sierra (10.13), or Mojave (10.14), then you may do the following to upgrade to macOS Catalina.

    • You should be redirected to the App Store. Click on the Get/Download option and follow the prompts to download and install macOS Catalina.
    • The upgrade will force a restart of the computer, and then a progress bar will appear on the screen with the Apple symbol.
    • Allow for at least 45-60 minutes for the installation to download and install.
  • After the computer returns to the login screen, log back in to the MacBook, and then check for any remaining updates to macOS Catalina.
